Yarnballa Cultural Festival Together in Company
From The Artistic Director
A change is coming and I don’t just mean a dust storm.
The Yarnballa Cultural Festival will be an exciting event not to be missed. Showcasing proud and strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at the crossroads of Australia, together we will re-imagine South Australia and Port Augusta through arts, story, song, dance and music. These four days are an opportunity for all to share and savour the rich and diverse language groups and cultures
from across the state.
Placed on the edge of the outback and set by the sea, the Yarnballa Cultural Festival in Port Augusta will feature an opening ceremony spectacular, choreographed by Gina Rings, a massive community concert with acts including One Blood Hidden Image, the MERRg, Warren Millera, and the Adnyamathanha Women’s Choir, a large dance and story ground, a big family day in Gladstone Square and a
film and comedy program over the festival days.
It is my pleasure to bring you a deadly, dynamic, solid and out-there irresistible festival that will make your soul sing, your belly laugh, and your toes tap, so stay tuned for more details and get down
