Williams v. Williamson compares representatives of culture in modern American and Australian Drama. How have American and Australian playwrights portrayed the unique aspects of their country’s identities in language, character and theme?
An ensemble of actors will explore the similarities and differences in the drama of our two nations, facilitating discussion and enacting excerpts from plays by American playwrights such as Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, David Mamet and Neil La Bute and Australian playwrights such as Ray Lawler, David Williamson, Katherine Thomson and Nick Enright. This workshop production is a must-see for any class
studying Australian or American drama.
Age Suitability: Upper Secondary, Years 10 - 12
