Dry by Catherine Fitzgerald
Presented by Country Arts SA's Local Stages
Directed by Tessa Leong
Sound by Catherine Oates
A moved reading of desperation, familiarity, slippery history, future warnings and cups of tea.
Featuring: Eileen Darley, Carrington Loko and Eliza Lovell
As part of Port Augusta Re-Imagines! Country Arts SA’s Local Stages commissioned South Australian based playwright and director Catherine Fitzgerald and composer/sound artist Catherine Oates to produce a performance piece inspired by Port Augusta.
During 2008, the artistic team has worked together to create this unique new work.
“I didn’t want Dry to be a historically correct piece of theatre. I wanted it to be inspired by Port Augusta, but not necessarily located there and I wanted the artists to experiment and do something they wouldn’t normally do. Dry is an edgy new work evoking a state of mind on the edge of a desert. I encourage you to attend and I look forward to discussing it with you on the day.” Creative Producer, Steve Mayhew
