Arid Sites
Arid Sites is an innovative public art employment project developed by Carclew Youth Arts, which employs local visual artists to work under the mentorship of professional public artists to design and make artworks that are then placed in the local environment.
Artists are supported in working to a design brief, developing design processes and the manufacturing of the artworks ready for installation.
Based on Carclew’s highly successful City Sites and River Sites projects, which have employed over 400 artists over the past 12 years, the Arid Sites project is designed to provide an intensive training and mentorship opportunity for artists between the ages of 17 and 26 who are living in the north of South Australia.
